ABBOTSFORD - Arliss A. Marcott, 76, Abbotsford,, Wis. died on Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2003, at the Continental Manor Nursing Home where she had resided since 1990.
Services for Arliss will be at 11a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003, at the Maurina Funeral Home in Abbotsford. Mr. Ray Miller, Mr. Daniel Farris and Mr. Charles Thain will officiate, and burial will be in the Dorchester Memorial Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Shon Marcott, Shannon Marcott, Trent Meske, Ryan Meske, Byron Marcott, Bob Plooy and Bob Voca.
The former Arliss Birkholz was born on April 8, 1926, in Ogema, the daughter of Alfred and Amber (Guth) Birkholz. She received her early education at the Town of Little Black School. Arliss and Leon Marcott were married on January 27, 1947, in Chicago.
Arliss and her husband farmed in the Town of Little Black, moving to Abbotsford in 1968. She was an excellent baker and in the late 1970s, owned and operated the Abbotsford Bakery. She continued her baking career from her home, known as Cakes by Arliss. She retired due to ill health. Earlier in her life, Arliss was the dietitian at the Medford Hospital and Nursing Home from 1961 until 1971.
She is survived by her husband Leon Marcott of Medford; sons Dean (Barb) Marcott of McHenry, Ill., Arlen Marcott of Ashland, and Kevin (Susan) Marcott of Abbotsford; daughters Lorena (Dan) Boss of Colby and Devona (Dennis) Meske of Ashland; a sister, Alva (Neal) Accola of Pittsville; 11 grandchildren, Shon Marcott, Shannon Marcott, Aeron Marcott-Plooy, Codi Ziech, Lisa Anderson, Byron Marcott, Desirae Marcott, Kyle Marcott, Trent Meske, Ryan Meske, and Dana Meske; and 5 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents, granddaughter Maria Marcott and a nephew Wilton Accola.
