HOESLY, CLARENCE AND SANDRA
Baltz Hoesly came in 1907 from Green County and was of Swiss ancestry. He married Leona Kessler who had come from Iowa in 1909. Clarence came with his parents from the Loyal area in 1947 when they rented the farm which was known as the ThompsonEstate. In 1959 Clarence bought the farm. It was the first time the farm had been sold since the logging days.
The same year Clarence was married to Sandra LaZotte of Neillsville. The LaZottes were among the earliest settlers in the Town of Grant. The Hoesleys have seven children. They are Dean, 20, who is presently farming at home, Kelly, i9, is a freshman in college, Ronda, 18, is a senior who just graduated from Granton, Rosie, 14, Jane, 12, Peggy, 9, and Karl is 2.
Clarence was elected a supervisor to the Town of York in 1970 and is presently serving his tenth year.
