Schulz, William (Sep 1870 - 3 Feb 1917)

Wm. Schulz, a farmer living near the Washburn town line in Grant, Clark County, Wis., south of Granton, was found frozen in the drifted snow on the road near his home Saturday morning. He was working in camp near Athens for the Copper River Land Co., and receiving a letter from his family that some of them were sick, he left Athens Thursday morning, arrived here on the 5:05 train that evening, and after getting shaved, started for home. It was a time of intense cold and he was overcome and perished.

Mr. Schultz was 46 years of age last September. He lived in the vicinity of Neillsville, in Pine Valley, for some years, and about eight years ago moved to his present home in Grant. He was a man of industry and well liked by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Miss Mary Krause before her marriage, and eight children. His aged mother lives on the old farm in Pine Valley and is in poor health. He leaves also two brothers, Paul and Herman, of Pine Valley, and two sisters, Mrs. Amelia Tauge, of Oshkosh, and Mrs. Max Schroeder of Neillsville. The time of the funeral has not at this writing, been decided upon.
