Halvorson, Carrie (1839? - 29 Mar 1918)

Mrs. Carrie Halvorson died suddenly at her home in this city March 29, 1918, aged 78 years.

She was born in Norway, grew to womanhood there and came to this country with her husband 30 years ago. They settled first at Flair, Wis., later moving to Clark County, Wis. settling on a farm in the town of Levis, seven miles south of Neillsville, where they lived 15 years. Her husband died 12 years ago and she moved to the city, where she has lived ever since.

Mrs. Halvorson was a most excellent woman, honest, upright, faithful and industrious. Her whole aim in life was to do well her part, to be of service to all about her, to set an example of just and upright conduct.

She leaves to mourn her death three sons: Louis of Denver, Col., John of Scott's Bluff, Neb., Hans of Kalsow, Wash. And three daughters: Mrs. Brown of Stanley, Wis., Mrs. Alfred Hauge and Mrs. A. Larson of Neillsville; also twenty-four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The funeral was held at the Norwegian Lutheran Church Tuesday, Rev. Mr. Magelson of Auburndale officiating. Burial took place in the Levis Town Cemetery.
