Kurth, William F. (1845 - 5 May 1918)
William F. Kurth was born in Germany in 1845. He came to Black River Falls, Wis. when about 18 years of age. There he engaged in farming and later went into the meat business. In 1873 he was married to Augusta Schnurr, who survives him. They moved to Neillsville, Clark County, Wis. about 25 years ago, where they lived most of the time until last December, when they went to Stockton, Cal. There Mr. Kurth died on May 5, 1918 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. C.G. Berlin.
Mr. Kurth was an industrious man, genial and pleasant in all his dealing with his fellow men, and made friends readily.
Burial took place in Rural Cemetery, Stockton, the service being conducted at the Godneau Chapel, Rev. Jacobson officiating. Mrs. Fyfe and Mrs. Yerbing rendered sacred selections. Many beautiful floral offerings were brought by family friends.
Mr. Kurth is survived by his wife, five daughters: Mrs. C. G. Berlin and Mrs. E. O. Kelly, Stockton, Cal.; Mrs. R. G. Neverman, Fresno, Cal,; Mrs. I.H. Lowe and Mrs. Charles Kapke, Neillsville; and one son, Arthur Kurth, at Stockton, Cal.
