(3 Oct 1898 - 18 Jun 1919) Martin Baeschlin,
son of Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Baeschlin, of the town of Eaton, Clark
County, Wis., was drowned while swimming in an irrigation canal
near Huntley, Mont., Jun 18, 1919. He was born in the town of
Eaton Oct. 3, 1898, attended country school and graduated from
Greenwood High School in Jun 1917. In Feb. 1918 he went to North
Dakota and worked on a large dairy farm, later going to Montana,
where he got a position on the U.S. Experimental farm. He was
intending to com home soon to help through haying at the home
farm. His remains were
brought to Greenwood, where the funeral was held Jun 24th. Martin was a young
man of splendid character and his life was full of promise. His
mother, who was Mathilda Fricke, who formerly lived here. The many
friends of the family here will feel the keenest sympathy for them
