COUNTY REPUBLICAN & PRESS (Neillsville, Wis.) 08/28/1919 Garbush, Adolph
(14 Dec 1890 - 22 Augl 1919) Private Adolph
Garbush met his death by drowning at Beloit, Aug. 22, 1919, while
there on a visit at the home of his sister. He had returned from
overseas a few weeks ago and was suffering from stomach trouble and
was held in the hospital at Fr. Sheridan. He got a short furlough
to come up to Beloit to visit his relatives, and seemed quite
depressed as the end of his furlough came near, and it is thought
that his mind became unsettled. He went out alone and the
indications are that he jumped into the river. Adolph was born in
the town of Grant, Clark County, Wis. and was 28 years, 8 months
and 8 days old. He was a good young man and well liked by all. His mother, Mrs.
Thomas Donahue, and a sister, Mrs. Guy Loy, left here Saturday
morning to visit with him, but his death occurred before their
arrival. He leaves besides
his mother, three sisters and two brothers. The body was sent here
for burial, the funeral being held Monday afternoon at the
Congregational Church, Rev. G. W. Longenecker officiating. Six
soldier boys in uniform acted as pallbearers. © Every submission is protected by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act
