(13 Augl 1844 - 5 Sep 1919) Carl Zschernitz
died Friday, Sept. 5, 1919, at his home in Pine Valley, Clark
County, Wis., aged 75 years and 23 days. Deceased, whose full name
was Carl Christian Johann Otto Adolf, was born in Germany where he
grew to manhood, and was there married to Rosa Krueger. For many
years he followed the business of contracting and building, and at
one time accumulated a considerable fortune, later meeting with
financial losses. He and family came to this country 24 years ago,
the sons becoming active men in the community. For several years
past the father lived a retired life on the farm in Pine Valley
where he died. The wife died about four years ago. He leaves four
sons: Henry, Carl and Robert of Neillsville, and Edward in the army
overseas. He leaves two daughters: Mrs. Martha Hachman and Mrs.
Allen Wildish. The funeral was
held Sunday at the home of Mrs. Allen Wildish, Rev. L. B. Colman
