COUNTY REPUBLICAN & PRESS (Neillsville, Wis.) 03/18/1920 March, Ruth E. (6
MAR 1839 - 11 Mar 1920) Ruth Elizabeth
Knapp was born March 6, 1839 in Eastern Canada. Jun 4, 1856 she
was united in marriage to Mills March, and 8 years later they came
to this country, coming first to Michigan and then to Wisconsin. To
them were born ten children, four of who survive, Mrs. Johnson of
Chetek, Mrs. Elmer Hull of Belleville, Ralph March and Mrs. William
Waterman of this place (Neillsville, Clark County, Wis.) Her
husband preceded her in death, passing away Oct. 29, 1899, at
Decorah, Iowa. Mrs. March passed away March 11, 1920, at the home
of her daughter, Mrs. Waterman, where she had been living for two
years. She came of a religious family counting among her relatives
seven preachers and was herself for a great many years a faithful
member and earnest worker in the Methodist Church. Even in the
feebleness of age she delighted to talk of the work of the church
and earnestly sought to do something to help. Funeral services were
held at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Waterman, March 15th, at one
o'clock p.m., rev. L. B. Colman officiating, and interment being in
the Grant Cemetery. Relatives who attended the funeral from out of
town were Mrs. Johnson of Chetek, Mrs. Elmer Hull of Belleville and
Mrs. Carl Wipfle, a niece of Grand Rapids. © Every submission is protected by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act
