COUNTY REPUBLICAN & PRESS (Neillsville, Wis.) 01/01/1920 Wendt, Clara
(Marriage - 31 Dec 1919) A very pretty
wedding took place Wednesday, Dec. 31, 1919, at 1:30 p.m., at the
home of Mrs. Fred Wendt, Sr., when her daughter, Clara, was united
in marriage with Mr. George LaStofka, the ceremony being performed
by Rev. D. Grether. Attending the couple were Miss Laura Wendt,
sister of the bride, and Louis LaStofka, brother of the groom. The bride wore a
white silk jersey and carried a bouquet of roses and smilax; the
bridesmaid was dressed in pink silk taffeta and carrier a bouquet
of roses. The rooms were decorated in pink and white. Only
relatives were present. After the ceremony a bountiful dinner was
served. The bride was a
successful clerk for a number of years in the Wasserburger store,
until it was destroyed by fire, when she at once was given a
position in the Danger's store, which she filled until her
marriage, and was well liked by all who knew her. The groom, who is
the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. P. LaStofka of this city (Neillsville,
Clark County, Wis.), is a very fine young man. He was a member of
Co. A. and left Neillsville when the company was called to the
colors and served more than two and a half years, being in the
Quartermasters Company in the Thirty-second Division. He is a great
favorite among his friends. The young couple
goes to housekeeping at once in a home already prepared by the
groom. A host of friends offer them congratulations and best wishes
in which we must heartily join. © Every submission is protected by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act
