02/20/1890 Adams, Marion (21
OCT 1870 - 16 Feb 1890) Died, at the home
of his parents in this village (Thorp, Clark County, Wis.) on
Sunday Feb. 16, 1890, of pneumonia, Marion Ellsworth Adams, aged 19
years, 3 months and 26 days. Thus the Grim
Destroyer enters another home and ruthlessly takes from the happy
parents and family a beloved son and brother just entering upon the
stage of manhood. Though suffering considerable at times for a
number of months past, Marion bore his lot without a murmur, hoping
that all would yet be well with him, but when the end drew near he
felt perfectly resigned to his untimely fate. Marion Ellsworth
Adams was born Oct. 21, 1870 in Green Co., Pa., and removed with
his parents to this village in 1883. The funeral services were held
at the Baptist church on Tuesday at 2 p.m., Rev. J. E. Webster of
Cadott officiating. The remains were escorted to the Thorp cemetery
by the Germania Band, who rendered music appropriate to the
occasion. The high esteem in which the deceased was held in the
community was shown by the large concourse of people who followed
the remains to their last resting place, the schools being closed,
the mills and stave factory shutting down to allow all to attend
the funeral. The entire community extends sympathy to the grief
stricken parents, brothers and sister in this great
bereavement. © Every submission is protected by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act
