COURIER (Thorp, Clark County, Wis.) 10/20/1892 Priest, Alonzo K.
(3 Apr 1814 - 6 Oct 1892) The death of
Alonzo K. Priest occurred at his residence at Loyal, Clark County,
Wis. last Thursday, Oct. 6, 1892. Deceased was born in New York on
April 3, 1814. He was very well known in this section, having
resided here and at Loyal for many years. While here he conducted a
restaurant and had charge of carrying the mail from the post office
to the depot. His figure was a familiar one to all, and for many
years, with a regularity, which became a habit, he trudged up and
down the track each morning and evening. After the fire in 1886, he
returned to Loyal, where he has since resided. The funeral occurred
at Loyal on Saturday and the remains were followed to their final
resting place by a very large number. Of him it May be said that he
was faithful in the performance of every duty. Enfeebled by years
and a long term of sickness, his death was expected. Besides his
wife, a son and daughter survive him. © Every submission is protected by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act
