residence in this village (Thorp, Clark County, Wis.) on Thursday
Nov. 1, 1888, Peter Raidt, of lung fever and old age, aged 72 years
and nine months. Peter Raidt was
born in Rottenberg, Germany, Jan. 31, 1815 and immigrated to this
country in 1846, settling down at Sheboygan, Wis., where he
followed his trade of carpenter. In 1853 he married Miss Elizabeth
Pegel, of Calumet Co. and remained in the county for about a year,
when he removed to Manitowoc Co., town of Schleswig, where he
remained on a farm for twenty years. In 1875 he removed with his
family to a farm in Taylor County and six years ago removed to this
