Johnson, Dorothy K. (18 May 1914 - 21 Jan 2003)

Dorothy K. Johnson, 88, Unity, Wis., died on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003, at Continental Manor Nursing Home, Abbotsford. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m., on Friday, Jan. 24, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Unity. The Rev. John Clasen officiated. Burial was in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, town of Brighton. Pallbearers were Duane Grube, Chad Grube, Allen Nelson, Lyle Johnson, Duane Johnson and Richard Kilty.

Dorothy Katherine Schulte was born on May 18, 1914, in the town of Colby, to Otto and Cora (nee Meyer) Schulte. She graduated from Colby High School. She married Evert Johnson on Sept. 16, 1934, in Colby. They farmed in the town of Unity before moving to Abbotsford in 1976. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Maplewood Homemakers. Her interests included sports and farm life.

Survivors include one daughter, Diane Grube, Rochester, Minn.; one son, Doug (Margi) Johnson, Rosewell, Ga.; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one sister, Audrey Tesmer, Colby.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Evert, on Dec. 27, 1999; one daughter, Shirley; and one sister, Ruth.

Maurina Funeral Service, Abbotsford, assisted the family with arrangements.
