COURIER (Thorp, Clark County, Wis.) 02/22/1894 Bruno, May (1 MAY
1876 - 17 Feb 1894) May, the oldest
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Bruno, died on Saturday last of
pneumonia. Her untimely death was quite sudden as she spent nearly
the entire week previous among her friends in the village (Thorp,
Clark County, Wis.) and to all appearances in he usual good health.
Upon her return to her father's logging camp southwest of Eidsvold,
where the entire family was spending the winter, she was taken ill
but was not considered dangerously so until Tuesday, when a
physician was called, who at once pronounced her illness of a fatal
character. She grew continually worse until Saturday evening when
death ended her sufferings. Being of a kind and jovial disposition,
all her acquaintances and schoolmates were her steadfast friends.
She was born May 1, 1876 and came with her parents to Thorp in
1880, where she continued to reside. Her deeply afflicted parents
have the sympathy of the whole community in their great loss. The
funeral services were held on Tuesday from the Baptist Church, Rev.
J. R. Bachman officiating, the scholars of the high school
attending in a body and the remains were laid at rest in the Thorp
Village Cemetery. As a mark of respect the saw mill and stave
factory shut down during the funeral. © Every submission is protected by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act
