COURIER (Thorp, Clark County, Wis.) 02/06/1902 Davis, Mahlon (? -
31 Jan 1902) Mahlon Davis, a
young man who has been employed at Hollister Bros. Sawmill located
about six miles south of the village (Thorp, Clark Co., Wis.) for
the past year, met with an accident on Thursday morning last, which
resulted in his death the next morning. Mr. Davis was working on
the rollway at the time, rolling up logs when in some manner one of
the logs started unexpectedly, striking him, causing internal
injuries. He was brought to the village and the same evening was
taken to the hospital at Chippewa Falls, accompanied by Dr.
McKittrick, where he lingered until 7:30 the next morning, when he
passed away. His parents who reside at Granton, this county, were
notified and were with him in his last hours. The remains were
taken to his home at Granton on Friday for burial. The young man
was highly respected by his fellow workmen and acquaintances here
and the sorrowing family has the sympathy of all in their
bereavement. © Every submission is protected by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act
