COURIER (Thorp, Clark County, Wis.) 07/14/1904 Smart, Hannah (11
FEB 1848 - 10 Jul 1904) Mrs. Hannah Smart
died at her home in the town of Thorp, Clark County, Wis., of a
gangrenous affection, on Sunday morning, July 10, 1904, after an
illness extending over a period of several months. She was the
daughter of the late Thomas Clark and was born in Waukesha Co.,
Wis., on Feb. 11, 1848. On Sept. 24, 1875, she was united in
marriage with John Smart in the town of Lyndon, Juneau Co., and
during the year 1877 they removed to the town of Thorp, this
county. No children ever blessed the union. Mrs. Smart was a woman
of kin nature and possessed many qualities, which endeared her to a
large circle of steadfast neighbors and friends. Having throughout
her whole life be a consistent and devout member of the Catholic
Church, her funeral was held from St. Bernard's Church on Tuesday
morning, a large concourse of relatives and friends following her
remains to the Catholic Cemetery where interment took place. Among
her immediate relatives she leaves to mourn her death are her
husband, John Smart, two brothers, Robert Clark of Wonewoe, and
James B. Clark of this place, and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Denny and
Mrs. Nellie Denny. © Every submission is protected by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act
