COURIER (Thorp, Clark County, Wis.) 03/21/1907 Christian,
Chandler W. (30 Jun 1844 - 19 Mar 1907) Died, at his home
in this village (Thorp, Clark County, Wis.) on Tuesday, March 19,
1907, of consumption, Chandler W. Christian, aged 63 years, 8
months and 20 days. Mr. Christian was
born in Jefferson Co., N.Y., on Jun 30, 1844, and came to Fond du
Lac Co., Wis., with his parents in 1849. In 1862 he entered the
army and served three years as a soldier in Co. H. 20th Wis.
volunteer infantry. After the war he returned to his home and soon
afterward was married to Miss Samantha Bradford, to which union
three children were born, Charles, Frank, and Capitola, now Mrs.
Peter Ulman. In 1879 they removed to the town of Withee, Clark
County, Wis., where the mother died on March 20, 1890. Two years
later he was united in marriage with Ida Oliver of Merrillan, to
whom four children were born, namely: Jay, Lula, Angie and Frank,
who, together with the children by his first marriage, one brother,
John b. Christian and sister, Mrs. Abraham Castellion of
Hortonville, Wis., and sister, Mrs. John Baker of Spirit Lake,
