Danielson, 92, Abbotsford, Wisconsin, died on Sunday, March 2, 2003, at Saint
Joseph’s Hospital’s Palliative Care Unit, Marshfield.
Visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m., until a 2 p.m. memorial
service on Sunday, March 9, at Maurina Funeral Home, Abbotsford.
The Rev. Keith Jones will officiate. Inurnment will be held in the
Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis. Walter G.
Danielson was born on March 16, 1910, in Ford County, Ill., to Otto
E. and Ella E. (nee Kridner) Danielson. He graduated from Paxton
High School in 1928. He graduated in 1934 from the University of
Illinois in Champaign/Urbana, where he was an ROTC member. He
married Irene Roth on Nov. 10, 1936, in Hennepin County, Minn. He
was a member of the Perkinstown Conservation Corp Camp, and later
was called to active duty with the U.S. Air Force. He worked for
Sears Roebuck, Chicago, from 1937-41. He owned and operated
Danielson Dry Cleaning, Abbotsford, for more than 30 years. He was
a member of the American Legion, Owen Masonic Lodge #317, and was
active in the Air Force Association. He was a former member of the
Mid-Wisconsin Bank board, former president of the Abbotsford
Village Board and a former member of the Abbotsford Housing
Authority board of directors. He also was a member of the First
Presbyterian Church. His interests included golf and
basketball. Survivors include
one son, Stephen (Nancy) Danielson, Kaukauna; one daughter, Sandra
(Charles) Mueller, Sun Prairie; five grandchildren, Kristin (Dr. M.
Brooke) Redd, Susan (Raimond) Dettmer, Steven (Terryl) Mueller,
Julie (Gary) Farthing, and James (Erin) Danielson; seven
great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Norma Schmidt,
Maryville, Tenn., and Elsie Roth, Marshfield. Preceding him in
death were his wife, Irene, on May 22, 1998; his parents; and one
brother, Raymond Danielson. Maurina Funeral
