Chase, Della (21 OCT 1911 - 18 Feb 2003)

NEILLSVILLE - Della Chase, 91, of Neillsville, Clark County, Wis., died at 3:35 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2003, at Memorial Nursing Home.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at York Center Methodist Church. The Rev. Wendell Williams and Rev. Nathan Kroll will co-officiate. Music will be provided by pianist Jay Parker and soloist Tricia Aleckson.

Interment will be in Neillsville City Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Nathon Vandeberg, Merlin Jacobson, Merlyn Kroll, Royal Karlen, Chuck Kaufman and Kenneth Chase.

Della was born Oct. 21, 1911, in York Center, Clark County to Roy and Sadie (Huntley) Lawrence. she married Roy Chase on Jun 14, 1936 at the home of her parents.

She was educated at Oriole Hill School in York Center and was the valedictorian of her class of 1930 at Neillsville High School. Della taught school for one year and was then employed at Clark County Register of Deeds office until 1938. She then worked for Lynn Mutual Insurance Agency until her retirement in 1973. Roy and Della lived in Neillsville until 1944 when they moved to the Lawrence Home Farm, farming until 1973. They then moved to Neillsville in September 1979. Della was an active member of York Center Methodist Church a member of the Alzheimer's Support Group and was emcee for the Sunshine Girls Chorus.

She is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Preceding Della in death were her husband, Roy, on Jan. 12, 1988; her parents and three sisters, Agnes Karlen, Leta Jacobson and Vivian Vandeberg.
