Jackson, Nettie (25 May 1868 - 9 Sep 1908)
Mrs. Nettie Brown Jackson died at Montgomery's Hospital in Eau Claire on Wednesday, Sept. 9, 1908, at 8 p.m. of consumption.
She has been a great and patient sufferer for two and a half years. The deceased was born in Jackson Co., Wis., on May 25, 1868, and moved with her parents to Clark County, Wis. in the fall of 1871, where she lived until she married I. A. Jackson of Eau Claire, June 12, 1889. She lived in Eau Claire and Colfax until the spring of 1903, when she moved to Lynchburg, Va. After spending three and one-half years there she came to Thorp, where she lived six months, then went back to Eau Claire again, where she made her home until she passed into a better world.
Six children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Jackson, Vilas B., Roy I., Vernon W., Bernard O., Erval S. and Clarence H. Besides her husband and sons, she leaves father, mother, brother and sister.
Mrs. Jackson was a faithful and true helpmeet to her husband, and a kind and loving mother. She was a very patriotic woman, and was a charter member of the W. R. C. of this place.
The funeral services were held at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. B. J. Brown, in this village, on Saturday last at three o'clock p.m., Rev. Amy of Stanley officiating, interment taking place in the Thorp Village Cemetery.
