Lake, William H. (1832 - 8 OCT 1908)
William H. Lake died on Thursday morning Oct. 8, 1909, after an illness of three months. Deceased was born in St. Lawrence Co. N.Y. in 1832. When quite a young man he came to Wisconsin and settled in Sheboygan Falls. He was married in 1857 to Mrs. Fannie Phillips. He enlisted in the 1st Wis. Regiment in 1861 and was wounded in the battler of Chaplin Hill, and was discharged from the service in 1863. He moved to Medford, Wis., in 1881; was a member of the G. A. R. Post there, and finally came to Thorp, Clark County, Wis., where he has since resided. He was for many years a member of the I. O. O. F. He leaves one brother who resides in New York.
The funeral services were held at the home of Mrs. Mary Phillips on Saturday last at two o'clock p.m., Rev. J. B. Bachman officiating, interment taking place in the Thorp Village Cemetery.
