Courier (Thorp, Clark County, Wis.) 10/22/1908 Finster, Marie
(Marriage - 8 OCT 1908) A very pretty
wedding took place last Thursday Oct. 8, 1908, at the Ev. Lutheran
Church when Mr. Carl Krause of Thorp, Clark County, Wis., and Miss
Marie Finster from here were united in marriage. Shortly before 4
p.m. the sweet strains of "Lohengrin" sounded through the edifice
and the bridal party marched to the altar. The bride was
dressed in Point D'Esprit over white silk and carried bridal roses
while the groom wore the conventional black. Miss Martha Finster,
sister of the bride, was bridesmaid, and Mr. Albert Krause, cousin
of the groom, acted as best man. The other attendees were Emil
Finster, Otto Finster, Walter Yandry and the Misses Anna Krause,
Freda Schrant and Caroline Whitney. Rev. M. Guebert
gave a very impressive address and performed the ceremony. Amidst
the jubilant strains of Valenti the party left the church. An elaborate
repast was served at the home of the bride's parents. Plates were
laid for 120. The presents
received by the bride were both numerous and pretty. Mr. and Mrs.
Krause left for their new home in Thorp, Clark Co., Wis., last
Monday accompanied by the best wishes of their many friends. Among the out of
town people who attended the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Krause,
Thorp, Wis., Mr. A. Krause and Miss Anna Krause, Ft. Atkinson, Mrs.
P. Whitney and daughter of Portage and Rev. and Mrs. R. Finster, of
