Courier (Thorp, Clark County, Wis.) 05/26/1910 Pierson, Samuel W.
(18 Mar 1865 - 18 May 1910) Samuel William
Pierson died of acute spinal meningitis, at his home in this
village (Thorp, Clark County, Wis.) on Wednesday, May 18, 1910,
aged 45 years and 2 months. He was born in Ireland on March 18,
1865, coming to this country alone in 1878. He was united in
marriage with Miss Maud Bancroft at Chippewa Falls in 1897, moving
to this village soon after, where he has since resided. Although Mr.
Pierson was a member of no church, he exemplified a pure and
honorable life, the teachings of the golden rule. His life was
gentle, but like the still waters it was deep. In his heart he
carried those he loved, and his hand was never weary, his step
never failed in ministering unto, caring for, and waiting upon
those who were in any way dependent upon him. He was a faithful
member of the Mystic Workers and Modern Woodmen, in each of which
societies he carried $1000 insurance. He leaves a devoted wife and
four children, John, Mary, Robert and Irene, three brothers, John
of Jamestown, N.D., Tom of Hope, N.D., Robert, and one sister who
resides in Florida. The funeral took
place on Friday last at 2 p.m. from the M. E. Church, Rev. J. B
Bachman officiating, burial taking place in the Thorp Village
Cemetery. © Every submission is protected by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act
