(27 Apr 1835 - 9 Augl 1910) John D. Blunck, an
old resident of this village (Thorp, Clark County, Wis.), died at
his home here on Tuesday evening. The funeral will be from the
house at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon, regular services at the M. E.
Church. (Follow on in

died at his home in this village on Tuesday, Aug. 9, 1910, aged 75
years, 3 months and 13 days. Mr. Blunck was born April 27 1835 in
Bastedt, Holstein, Germany. In 1856 he was united in marriage with
Katherine Jahnsen, who preceded him into the great beyond about a
year ago. In 1882 he came to America, settling first at Adair,
Iowa, and in 1888 he came to this village with his family, where he
followed the vocation as tailor until age and general debility
incapacitated him from work. He was invariably a good neighbor and
an honest man. He leaves four children: John F. Blunck, Withee,
Wis., Mr. C. Thormahlen, Huntley, Mont., Melwina Wilson and Mrs. L.
F. Herzberg of Thorp. The funeral took place here on Friday last,
Rev. B. M. Schrein officiating.
