FEB 1834 - 30 May 1911) Mr. Solomon Yoder
died of apoplexy at the home of his son, George Yoder, at Gilman,
Wis., on May 30, 1911,aged 77 years, 3 months and 28 days. He was
born on Feb. 2, 1834, in Home Co., Ohio, and was united in marriage
to Miss Hannah Moser on June 13, 1858, at LaGrange, Ind. Ten
children were born to this union, six daughters and four sons. In
1873 he moved with his family to Menomonie, Wis., and in 1894 they
moved to Breedsville, Mich., where they resided until last fall,
when himself and wife went to Gilman to reside with their son. He
was an honest and good man all through life and was loved by all
who knew him, and was greatly devoted to his family. He leaves an
aged wife, who is very feeble, and seven children, Mrs. Lucy Shilts
of Boyd, Wis., Mrs. May Karstetter of Auburn, Ind., Mrs. Amanda
Hill of Otsego, Mich., John Yoder, Jonathon Yoder, Sam Yoder,
George Yoder, of Gilman, Wis., and one brother, John Yoder of
Knapp, Wis. Two daughters died but a few months ago. Short services
were held at his home on Friday morning last by Rev. Godfrey, after
which the remains were brought to Thorp, Clark County, Wis., where
the funeral took place from the M. E. Church at 2 o'clock p.m.,
Rev. J. B. Bachman officiating, interment taking place in the Thorp
