James D. Chapman, uncle of Ira Chapman, died at the latter's home in this village (Thorp, Clark County, Wis.) on Friday last, the funeral taking place from the residence on Sunday, Rev. J. Bachman officiating. Deceased was a soldier in the Civil and Mexican Wars, and was 88 years of age.
