Leroy, Catherine (17 Sep 1819 - 17 Jul 1912)

Mrs. H. C. Leroy died of erysipelas at her home in this village (Thorp, Clark County, Wis.) on Wednesday, July 17, 1912, after a severe illness of about two weeks. Catherine Priest was born at Platsburg, N.Y., on Sept. 17, 1849, and in 1865 was united in marriage with Edward Leigh, who died a few years later. In 1872 deceased came to Loyal, Clark County, where on July 31, 1877, she was joined in wedlock with H. C. Leroy. In 1882 they came to Thorp and have been residents here since. While she has gone from the scene of conflicts, the sorrows and pleasures of life, she will still live in the hearts of those who knew her best. She leaves her aged husband, H. C. Leroy, son, C. H. Leigh, and brother, E. F. Priest, who have the sympathy of all in their bereavement. The funeral took place on Saturday afternoon last from the residence, Rev. J. B. Bachman officiating, interment taking place in the Thorp Village Cemetery.
