Courier (Thorp, Clark County, Wis.) 10/10/1912 Barrett, Mrs. Wm.
(1827? - 6 OCT 1912) Mrs. Wm. Barrett,
who has been in a feeble condition for the past year, died on
Sunday afternoon last after a long life of usefulness, aged
eighty-five years. She was born in Canada, in the province of
Quebec, County Gaspe, where she was united in marriage with Wm.
Barrett, forty years ago. The family has lived in this village
(Thorp, Clark County, Wis.) twenty-nine years. During her long
residence here she enjoyed the friendship of everyone she met.
Disease did not destroy the charm of a kind disposition no old age
diminish her unselfish solicitude for her friends and loved ones.
Adhering to the faith of her fathers, she united with the Methodist
Church in early life and loved to attend its services when health
permitted. While she has continued to enjoy the society of her
friends and family she has for the past year realized that her
active life was over and with resignation awaited the Divine call
from death into life. Her grief stricken husband and sons, Wm. E.
Barrett and Ernest H. Barrett, and daughter, Mrs. A. Steele, have
the sincere sympathy of the entire community. The funeral took
place from the M. E. Church on Tuesday afternoon, Rev. J. T. Kneen
officiating, interment taking place in the Thorp Village
Cemetery. © Every submission is protected by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act
