Dr. J.N. Cunningham raised the quarantine from the Borklund home wich had been quarantined a week before because of small pox.

Dr. E.G. Towle, city health officer, issued a warning of an outbreak of measles.

Fred Zais, who officated as chief of police had to turn in his star. He could not preserve order in a First Ave. Resort that has been getting worse. The Mayor pinned the star on John Valley.

50 YEARS AGO (Jan 4, 1951)

Abner H. Krogan, farmer, sued the city of Stanley for damages resulting from alleged pollution of the Wolf River.

40 YEARS AGO (Jan 5, 1961)

Mike Steit Sr. caught a 17 lb northern pike.

25 YEARS AGO (Jan 1, 1976)

Dr. Tom Sigrist is opening a dental practice in the old post office building.
