(7 Dec 1859 - 29 NOV 1917) Mrs. Carl Braun
died at the hospital at Marshfield, Wis. on Thursday, Nov. 29,
1917. She was born in Regenwalde, Pommern, Germany on Dec. 7, 1859,
where she grew to womanhood and was united in marriage to Carl
Braun. Thirty-three years ago they immigrated to this country and
after spending one year in Calumet Co. came to Thorp, Clark County,
Wis. and settled on a farm in the town of Worden, where they
resided until two years ago when they sold their farm and bought a
home in this village. On Nov. 16th Mrs. Braun was engaged in raking
up leaves in the church yard of the Reformed Church and burning the
same, when her clothing caught fire and before the flames were
quenched, suffered severe burns, which finally resulted in her dath
on the date stated above. During her residence ehre she was a
tireless worker and was greatly respected by friends and neighbors.
She leaves to mourn her husband and four children, Emil Braun of
Troy, Mont., Richard Braun, Mrs. Oscar Ramberg and Mrs. Charles
Ramberg Jr. of Thorp. Also she leaves one sister, Mrs. L. Hilbo of
this place. The funeral took
place on Monday afternoon, services being conducted by Rev. Sherrey
of Colby, at the Reformed Church, interment taking place in the
