Zachow, Christiana (4 Jul 1831 - 1 Mar 1919)

Mrs. Christiana Wilhelmina Henrietta Zachow (born Strei) was born in Regenwalde, Pommern, Germany, on July 4, 1831, and died at her home in this village (Thorp, Clark County, Wis.) on Saturday, March 1, 1919, aged 87 years, 7 months and 24 days. In 1892 she arrived in this country with her husband, Carl Zachow, who died eleven years ago. For four eyars after their arrival in this country they resided at Hayton, Calumet Co., Wis., and then they moved to the town of Worden, Clark County. After Mr. Zachow's death deceased made her home in this village. She enjoyed excellent health up to within a few days of her death. She ran the journey of her life in nearly eighty-eight years. It is a path marked with deeds of kindness and cheer to which all her neighbors and friends can testify. She leaves to mourn one daughter, Mrs. L. Hilbo, and nine grandchildren. The funeral took place on Tuesday afternoon, services being held at the home and at the M. E. Church, Rev. Laabs officiating, interment following in the cemetery in the town of Worden beside the remains of her husband.
