100 YEARS AGO:

 

Five of the Ogurek Brothers bought the large farm at Whipple dam.

F. Albert Creamery are building skimming stations at central points in the towns of Withee, Reseburg, Worden and Thorp.

A fire consumed the home and nearly all the contents, John Morgan, owner, and John Krull, renter.

J.W. Rogers of Worden, is planning on planting six acres of tobacco this spring.

 

75 YEARS AGO:

 

Mr & Mrs. Harry Smith of Rolling Corners, had a daughter on April 13th.

Peter Piwoni traded farms with Joe Neiman. Mr. & Mrs. Stanley Manicki had a son on April 13th. Frank Tomkowiak bought John G. Bogumill's 80 acre farm.

Katherine Konieczny age 76, died April 13th at her daughters home, Mrs. Mike Pilarski in Thorp. Amy Pearl Asselin, age 17, died April 15th of spiral meningitis in Marshfield.

 

50 YEARS AGO:

 

King and queen of the prom will be Roger Turenne and Josephine Hmielak.

On April 8th, Wendell E Markham, Anthony C Jarocki, Ronald A. Milewski and James A Pietrzak joined the Marines.

Patrick Milligan, age 44, was killed in a three-car crash.

Ernest Boardman, age 67, died on Feb. 13th in Hialelah, FL.

Mr & Mrs. Richard Heiting had a son on April 7th.

Mr & Mrs. Roland Seidl's daughter was baptized on Sunday at St. Anns.

Mr & Mrs. Delmar Augustine of Bobbs Mill had a daughter on April 14th.

Mr & Mrs. John Jarocki had a son on April 7th in Eau Claire.

Mr & Mrs. Harlen Gonstead had a son at Eau Claire.

Mr & Mrs. Cecil Liech had a son on April 6th.

Mr & Mrs. Alfred Struck had a son April 5th.

Mrs. Max Tyznik, age 73 of Lublin, passed away.

Emily Martini, age 73, died April 10th in Stanley.

 

25 YEARS AGO:

 

Walter Tyznik, age 81, died April 16th in Stanley.

Ignatius Koschak, age 70, died April 14th in Greenwood.

Mr & Mrs. Wayne Moore of Reseburg had a baby girl on April 15th.

Robert J Burzinski, Marine Private, has complete training.

Albert Meissner, age 63, Withee, died April 22nd in Tomah.

Chester Kliminski, age 64, died April 19th in Los Alamitos, CA.

Mr & Mrs. Elmer Vetterkind celebrated their 50th anniversary.

Jon and Kerry Papierniak had a daughter on April 17th.

John F. Smasal, age 78, of Stanley, died April 20th in Marshfield.

Helen Sapetta, age 88, died April 25th.

A fire on April 22nd, threatened the property of Rich Abramczak.

 

10 YEARS AGO:

 

Kenneth Rusch, age 75, died April 18th in Stanley.

Emily Zawacki, age 87, died April 20th in Eau Claire.

Francis H. Norte, age 65, died April 7th. Tim and Rence (Witt) Mahal, had a son on April 11th.

Luke Sprague of Thorp has honored by the Army Reserve Officers Training Corp.

Anna Grajkowski, age 81, died April 18th. John and Kathy Lewan of Lublin had a son on April 21st.

Bev (Schweitzer) and Randy Van De Loo, had a son on April 21st.
