Courier (Thorp, Clark County, Wis.) 01/01/1920 Morris, Daniel H.
(26 JUN 1841 - 23 Dec 1919) Daniel H. Morris
died at his home in this village (Thorp, Clark County, Wis.) on
Tuesday, Dec. 23, 1919, aged 78 years, 5 months and 23 days. He was
born in the state of New York on Jun 26, 1841, where he grew to
manhood and was united in marriage. To this union two children were
born, the mother and one child passing away while residents of that
state, one son, Albert Morris surviving, now resides at McCord,
Wis. Mr. Morris then came to Wisconsin and enlisted in Co. F. 44th
regiment, where he served until the end of the war and received his
honorable discharge. On Oct. 12, 1873, he was united in marriage
with Miss Lillian Leggett at Weyauwega, Wis., where they resided
for a time, moving to Hartford, and in 1895 came to Thorp. Mr.
Morris was a most kind and indulgent husband and father and his
passing is much regretted by his family and friends. His illness
was of short duration and was caused by the infirmities of old age.
He is survived by his wife and two sons, Albert, as above noted,
and Elton Morris, and six grandchildren, a son, Layton and one
daughter, Blanche, dying several years ago. The funeral took place
on Friday afternoon last from the residence, Rev. G. C. Wadding of
Stanley, officiating, interment following in the Thorp Village
Cemetery. © Every submission is protected by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act
