(1795? - 1 Mar 1875) Walter A. Safford,
brother to D. L. Safford of the town of York, Clark County, Wis.,
died at the residence of Mrs. James Reddan last Monday morning,
from typhoid pneumonia, after an illness of eight days, aged almost
80 years. The deceased was a man of good ability and more than
ordinary attainments. He was a telegraph operator, and until within
the past five months was engaged in that business, having had
charge of a station somewhere on the Central Pacific Railroad. His
life has been one of dissipation, to some extent, but was entirely
free from anything low or criminal. Wherever known he has many warm
friends who will regret his untimely death. He leaves a wife and
three children in some of the eastern states to mourn the loss of a
father and husband. The funeral took place from the Methodist
Church on Wednesday, and was well attended. © Every submission is protected by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act
