Allen, Mrs. W. C. (? - 8 Apr 1875)

Last Thursday the telegraph brought the sad intelligence of the death of Mrs. W. C. Allen, and sorrow reigns in the hearts of her many friends. Never possessing a strong physical organization, Mrs. Allen fell an easy prey to that dreadful scourge of our climate, consumption, and though it had been evident for some time that a useful and blameless life was fast drawing to a close, none could think the end so near, and the news of her departure fell with crushing weight upon the hearts of loved ones and friends.
