(AUG 1842 - 21 Jan 1899) Mrs. Melissa
Monroe, widow of the late C. C. Monroe, died in this village
(Thorp, Clark County, Wis.) on Saturday morning last, aged 56 years
and 5 months. She was a native of New York State and had been an
invalid for several years. She leaves to mourn three children, Mrs.
A. L. Monroe, Mrs. Wm. Aucutt and F. A. Sharon, who aided in every
possible manner to restore her to health and comfort her in her
last hours. Three sisters, Mrs. Leroy Graves of Fond du Lac, Mrs.
Betsy Helmer of Milwaukee and Mrs. Frik Jerard of Waupaca, also
survive her. The funeral occurred from the Baptist Church on Sunday
