Ernest Boardman went to Owen Wednesday. A. J. Hadley is putting a new roof on his residence.

C. F. Warden returned to his home in Elroy last week.

Merrit and Alberto Warner returned to West Allis, Monday.

Barney Huls of County Line is helping his brother George load wood.

Mrs. Asa Storey of St Paul is paying her sister-in-law Mrs. A. J. Hadley a visit George Huls was the lucky man. He enticed a large deer to follow him home.

The young friends of Julia Timlin treated her to a surprise party Monday evening. Gilbert Vanderhyden and family were callers at the George Huls home Monday evening.

Our bachelor friend John Johnson is erecting a fine barn on his farm just north of this place.

E. W. Starks is still improving his farm buildings. It is cement floors he is putting in this time. Thomas McAdam of Owen has been writing cyclone insurance among the farmers hereabouts.

Ed Western is building a blacksmith shop and machine shed on his farm south of here, in Worden.

Mrs. R. Warden, daughter Lillie and John Evenson called at Claus Kolpien’s in East Worden Sunday.

School in the H. Warden district was closed last week owing to the illness of the teacher Miss Heiser.

That veteran hunter Mike McCaffery of Roger Creek succeeded in bagging three black bears last week.

Mr. and Mrs. John Bohman are rejoicing over a little daughter who arrived at their home early Saturday morning.

A party was given at the home of Mrs. Sarah Ferdon Saturday evening, in honor of Grandma Susan Ferdon’s80th birthday. Jos. Flora Sr. has a new gasoline engine which will furnish power to run his wood saw. feed mill and other power machinery.

Harry Warden, finding that he had more live stock than his stables would accommodate has erected a new building in which to house the surplus.

Mrs. Jacob Jacobson accompanied her daughter Hannah to the hospital in Eau Claire, the latter having found it necessary to return there for further treatment. Win. Tunison, W. R. Allen and B. Warner with their respective families and John Evenson attended an oyster supper given by the Sons of Veterans society at the home of A. N. Sisco, in Thorp, Saturday evening.

The Womans Auxilary of the A. S. E. met with Mrs. Ole Samuelson in Worden Thursday: Mrs. Edith Bowie and Miss Clara Kienholz were chosen delegates to the State convention being held in Marshfield this week.

The Presbyterian Ladies Aid will meet with Mrs. John Warner the second Wednesday, being the eleventh day of December. All meetings in the future will be on the second Wednesday of each month instead of every fourth Wednesday as heretofore.

Lawrence Peterson of Stanley has sold his farm south of here, known as the Wright place, to a party from Iowa, for $5,000. We understand that Lawrence has purchased the Winkler farm on the Delmar side of the county line of W. A. Abbot for $5,300.
