Warren "Butch" Brown
Warren "Butch" Brown, 58, Owen, died on Saturday, November 24, 201, at Saint Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield after a courageous battle with cancer.
Funeral services for Warren will be on Thursday, November 29, 2001, 11:00 a.m. at St. Katherine’s Episcopal Church in Owen. Reverend Father Guy Usher III will officiate. Internment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Withee. Visitation with family and friends was on Wednesday, November 28, 2001, at the Maurina Funeral Home in Owen, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Serving as pallbearers will be: Dick Hallin, Wayne Satonica, Roger Niemi, Dale Niemi, Mike Barna and Bill Amundsen. Honorary pallbearers are: Alan and Jan Niemi, and the wives of the carriers; Pam Hallin, Cindy Satonica, Ellen Niemi, Mary Niemi, Nadine Churkey, and Cheryl Barna.
Warren "Butch" Lewis Brown was born on April 4, 1943, in Escanaba, Michigan, the son of Harold and Jean (Christensen) Brown. He attended Owen-Withee High Shool. His first marriage was to Caroline Barfknecht. They later divorced. Butch and Sharon Auberg were united in marriage on October 5, 1996.
Butch was employed with Niemi Farms of Owen, for many years. He later moved to Colby where he worked as cook for the Colby Cafe. He also was cook for the Silver Dollar in Thorp. Before retiring in June of 2001, he was Kitchen Manager for the 11th Frame Restaurant in Owen. He was a member of St. Katherine’s Episcopal Church.
Butch will be dearly missed by his wife Sharon Brown of Owen, two daughters; Linda (Karl) Kreuscher of Curtiss, Trudy (Adam) Konopka of Belgium, WI; one son, Daniel (Amber) Brown of Lake Tahoe, California; two step-sons: David Berg of Chicago, IL, Ronald (Mary) Taylor of Plainfield, IL; one step-daughter: Kelly (Danny Joe) Parker of Campobello, South Carolina; two brothers: Roger (Martha) Brown of san Ramon, California, Harold Brown of Clarksville, Arkansas; four sisters: Hazel (Roy) Hatchett of Clarksville, Arkansas, Carol (Rocci) Martingnoni of Gonzales, California, Marion Carter of Soledad, California, Myra (Ray) Benjamin of Parkersville, Arizona: one uncle, Glen (Peggy) Brown of Independence, Missouri and 11 grandchildren.
