Joan M. Kroeplin 1950-2003

Joan M. Kroeplin, 52, long time resident of the Stanley area, passed way at her home in Stanley on April 7.

Joan was born Aug. 20, 1950, in Stanley, the daughter of Claude and Dorothy (Sneen) Tollefson. She grew up in the Stanley area and attended area schools.

Joan was united in marriage to Robert Kroeplin on December 7, 1968, at Minneapolis, Minn. She worked there for a short time and then moved to Colby then back to Stanley where she enjoyed being a housewife and liked to tend bar on the side for 19 years.

Joan loved fishing, going to the casinos, and playing cards and cribbage with family and friends.

Joan is survived by her five children, Bobbi Jo (Joe) Krug of Stanley, Ryan (Traci) Kroeplin of Thorp, Wade (Mindy) Kroeplin of Stanley, Dawn (Pete) Simon of Thorp and Lynn (Fiancee Mike Boie) Kroeplin of Stanley; five grandchildren, Nathan, Breanne, Sylvia, Lindsey and Brittany; her sisters and brothers, Becky (Red) Naiberg of Cornell, Nancy (Ed) Downing of Manitowoc, Julie (Mick) Erickson of Birchwood, Claudette (Al) Reynolds of Stanley, Cindy (Al) Sybal of Stanley, Bill (Ann) Tollefson of Thorp, Donny (special friend Jana) of Chippewa Falls; and sisters-in-law Karen Tollefson of Portand, Ore. And Missy Tollefson of Thorp.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Tom and Dan Tollefson; and special friend Don Spaeth.

Funeral services are today at 2 p.m. at the Plombon Funeral Chapel in Stanley, with Pastor Robert Hoekstra officiating.

Burial with be in Holy Family Cemetery.
