Stenstrom, David G. (6 Jul 1929 - 12 JUN 2003)

David G. Stenstrom Sr., 73, Owen, died on Thursday, June 12, 2003, at his home. A memorial service was held at 7:30 p.m., on Sunday, June 15, at the Maurina Funeral Home, Owen. Eulogist was Denny Henke. Full military rites were accorded by the American Legion and the Owen-Withee Vets Club.

David Gilbert Stenstrom was born on July 6, 1929, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Gustave and Marie Vivian (nee Finnila) Stenstrom. He married Flondene "Dee" Spoonemore on Oct. 3, 1959, at Selfridge U.S. Air Force Base in Michigan. He served in the Air Force for 21 ½ years and retired in 1968. They moved to Owen in 1968 and he worked with Sears Roebuck, Marshfield. In 1970, they operated Dave’s Tap Room at the Woodland Hotel, Owen. From 1971-98, they owned and operated Dave’s Steakhouse, Owen. He was a member of the American Legion, the Owen-Withee Vets Club and World War II Veterans Club 40 et 8. His interests included collecting and dealing wholesale in coins.

Survivors include his wife, Flondene "Dee" Stenstrom, Owen; two sons, David G. Stenstrom Jr., Owen, and Leonard Stenstrom, Green Bay; two daughters, Cassandra Marie Stenstrom, Green Bay, and Amy (Tim) Hansen, Owen; one grandson, Michael John Hansen; and one brother, Gustave (Jean) Stenstrom Jr., Winston-Salem, N.C. Preceding him in death were his parents and one son, Raymond Stenstrom, in 1996.

Maurina Funeral Home, Owen, assisted the family with arrangements.
