(5 Apr 1943 - 13 May 2003) COLBY, WIS. - Jerome
Lawrence Weber, 60, Rock Island, Ill., died Tuesday, May 13, 2003,
at Galena Hospital, Galena, Ill. The funeral will
be at noon Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Colby.
Interment will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in the town of
Colby, Clark County. The Rev. John Malik will officiate. Jerry was born
April 5, 1943, in the town of Little Black, Taylor County, to
Lawrence and Verna (Schumacher) Weber. He graduated from Wausau
Technical Institute in 1963. Jerry and Carol Leisz were united in
marriage in October 1964. He moved to the Quad Cities area and
worked as an engineering designer for John Deere Harvester Works.
He retired in 1999 after 36 years of service. He was an avid golfer
and gardener and also enjoyed home remodeling. Survivors include
his wife, Carol, Rock Island, Ill.; his children, Brenda (David)
Monti, Berwyn, Ill., and Brian Weber, Rock Island, Ill.; his
grandchildren, Aaron and Alyssa; his sisters, Joanne Berndt,
Wausau, and Mary Lou (Dennis) Steines, Prairie du Chien; and a
sister-in-law, Carol Weber, Colby. Preceding him in
