Melvin L. Fischer, 82, of Dorchester, Clark County, Wis., died
Friday, May 30, 2003, at Saint Joseph's Hospital Palliative Care
Unit. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at St. Peter Lutheran Church
in Dorchester. Intermentwill be in Dorchester Memorial
Cemetery. He was born Feb.
10, 1921, in Medford to William A. and Anna (Damm) Fischer. He
married Beaulah Jensen on June 26, 1948, at Immanuel Lutheran
Church in Medford. He attended Thielke Grade School and Medford
Senior High School. He owned A&E Tavern in the town of Little
Black until 1955, when he started his own machine shop, Dorchester
Towers, which he ran for 40 years until he retired in 1995. He was
a trustee on the Dorchester Village Board and a member of St. Peter
Lutheran Church, Dorchester Fire Department, Hull's Lake Club and
the Midnight Riders Snow-mobile Club. Survivors include
his wife, Beaulah Fischer of Dorchester; two sons, Daniel (Karen)
Fischer of Avondale, Ariz., and David (Hillary) Fischer of Daytona
Beach, Fla.; two sisters, Myrtle (Norbert) Faber of Woodruff and
Joyce (Donald) Rinehart of Owen; a brother, Clifford (Linda)
Fischer of Portage; four grandchildren and several
