TRIBUNE (Loyal, Clark County, Wis.) 11/23/1905 Vetter, Caroline
(1832? - 19 NOV 1905) Mrs. Caroline
Vetter was called to her heavenly home Nov. 19, 1905, after being
subjected to an operation in a Chicago Hospital. Mrs. Vetter was 73
years of age and had been ailing for some time, and in hopes of
prolonging her days went to the Passayant hospital in Chicago,
where an operation was performed. She was, however, unable to
withstand the shock and death came. Her daughter, Mrs.
J. W. Filber and husband were at the bedside when the grim
messenger called. The brought the remains to the home of Frank
Vetter, a son, of this city (Loyal, Clark County, Wis.) and the
funeral was held at the German Lutheran Church Wednesday, the Rev.
Lange officiating. Interment was made in the Loyal Cemetery. Mrs. Caroline
Vetter was born in Germany and was married to John Vetter in that
country. In 1854 they came to America, locating at Milwaukee. After
living there four years they moved to Washington Co. It was there
that their 15 children were born, eight of who survive. They are
Frank, William, John, Charles, Ida, Emma, Bertha and Anna. John Vetter and
his wife came to Clark County, Wis. 22 years ago, where Mr. Vetter
died. Mrs. Vetter continued to reside here until four years ago,
when she went to Walworth to reside with daughter, Mrs. Filber. It
was there she became ill and went to Chicago. The Tribune join
