Davel, John (8 NOV 1845 - 18 Jan 1906)
Death visited one of our Loyal, Clark County, Wis. homes about 8 o'clock this morning and claimed as its victim our esteemed citizen, John Davel. The result was due to a cancer of the stomach.
Mr. Davel had been ill for a few weeks and until within the last ten days, his friends anxiously looked for his recovery, as he had been of a very robust man up to his present illness.
John Davel was born Nov. 8, 1845 in Germany and came to America in 1875, locating at Two Rivers. In 1874 he was married to Miss Amelia Graumann. Leaving Two Rivers he went to Hilbert, thence Marshfield and after residing there moved to Spencer. Eight years ago he made Loyal his home and has lived here until his demise.
He leaves, besides his wife, five children and eight grandchildren to mourn his loss. The children are Albert, John, Charles, George and Joseph. The grandchildren are Mildred, Vernal, Lyle, Evelyn, Florence, Lillian, Arthur and Andrew.
The funeral will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Lutheran Church.
