Tufts, cashier; capital $25,000. - - - - - - 70 Years Ago 14 Oct 1932 Anton long reports having seen a white pheasant on the road to Lendborg farm, north of the city, recently. County forests are being culled out this year ti supply fuel for the unemployed. Hardwood trees that have little value except for fuel are being cut. - - - - - 60 Years Ago 16 Oct 1942 Nation wide gasoline rationing will become effective Nov. 22. Regisitration for the purchase of coupon books will be held at the public school building Nov. 9th. The basic allowances will be 16 gallons a month, regardless of the size of your car. - - - - - - - 50 Years Ago 16 Oct 1952 Word has been received here that five Stanley children have been found eligible to compete in the final judging of the annual Ford dealers' photo contest. The five eligible little folks are the children of J. E. Henderson, Arthur Mansur, Doris Fitzl, Donald Halterman and Manfred Steit. - - - - - -- 25 Years Ago 13 Oct 1977 This year's homecoming King and Queen are Tim Troyer and Sue Wergedal. members of the court are Claire Hatfield, Jerry Amdahl, Chris Eslinger, Greg Mitchell, Barb Thielke, Jeff Erickson, Carol Spaeth, Bruce Eslinger, Kathy Ederer, Brad Eslinger, Joe Bernklau and Leanne Eslinger.
