Fatal Accident Last Sunday three young men went gunning near the suburbs of this village, and through the accidentally discharge of a gun one of the party receive an injury from the effects of which he died last Wednesday morning. David. F. Frantz, the young man who came to his death in this unfortunate manner, was about fifteen years of age. His parents reside in this village, and have the sympathies of the community in this sad affliction. The funeral on Thursday was largely attended. The Neillsville Brass Band, of which he was a member at the time of his death. Were in attendance, and the dirge played by them in the mournful march to the cemetery, only added to the solemnity of the occasion.
We are requested by Deputy Sheriff Follett to state that any one detected in using fire-arms within the village limits will be liable to prosecution, and that all boys who are found hunting near the village on Sunday will be dealt with according to law.
In view of the sad occurrence of last Sabbath it is well for all to be a little more guarded in the use of fire arms in and around our village. It is absolutely unsafe to venture out of town at some times owning to the constant firing that is going on in all directions. It should be prohibited.
