Allen, Justin E. (1842? - 10 Jul 1907)
Justin E. Allen, a relative visiting with Dr. James Richmond, died suddenly last Wednesday evening at about five o'clock. He was having a conversation with the doctor and Don Thomas on the veranda when he expired of heart failure with which he had been afflicted for some time. He was sixty-five years of age.
He was high up in the Masonic order, having received sixteen degrees and being a member of the Whitehall Blue Lodge, Arcadia Royal Arch Lodge and the Commandry of La Crosse. He was also a veteran of the war of the rebellion and was a member of the 30th Wi., Co. C Infantry.
His remains will be taken to Blair on Friday morning and buried on Sunday with Masonic honors. He leaves a wife, two children and other relatives to mourn his loss.
