Bredlau, Mrs. August (18 JUN 1845 - 17 OCT 1907)

Mrs. August Bredlau died at her home two and one-half miles east of this village (Loyal, Clark County, Wis.) on Thursday, Oct. 17, 1907, at six o'clock in the evening of heart failure at the age of sixty-two years, three months and twenty-nine days.

When he husband came from his work in the evening he found her leaning against the walls of their residence dead, but her body was still warm.

She came to this country in 1882 and settled at Greenwood, Clark County, where she was married to a man by the name of Whitmore, who drove the stage between Greenwood and Withee. On Sept. 14, 1905 she was married to August Bredlau, who, with their three children, survive her.

After a long, busy and useful life she died as she had lived, honored, trusted and loved. Her Christian life was beautiful from its beginning to its close, and through all the sorrows she met in the way, her faith in God never wavered. She has left us and today the Autumn leaves fall upon another grave.

The funeral services were held at the Lutheran Church Saturday afternoon at two o'clock, Rev. William Lange officiating. The remains were laid to rest in the cemetery two miles north of this village.
