Arrested
Last Friday the Sheriff of La Crosse County came to this place in search of one Tracy Thompson, whose parents reside in the town of Levis, who in company with others, has been engaged in an unlawful traffic in cattle during the past few months in La Crosse County - the stock of which they have been operating have been stolen. He was traced to the home of his parents, and on Wednesday morning, before the break of day, the Sheriff above named accompanied by Capt. J. w. Tolford, Under Sheriff of this county, and a posse from this place, surrounded the house and took the transgressor to their embrace. He was taken to La Crosse on Wednesday, and it is said that the evidence against him is sufficient to prevent him from returning to this locality for years. He has the reputation of being a hardened scoundrel, and it is to be hoped he will get a through ticket if the charges against him are sustained
